What tools or skills has Hermanos Unidos given you that have helped after graduation?
The greatest opportunities Hermanos Unidos has provided me with are networking opportunities. My alumni mentor, Andrew, gave me great advice after graduation as well as friendship.
How have you continued to follow the ideas of El Nuevo Hombre outside of the space?
El Nuevo Hombre is something you carry with you at all times. Today’s society has made it far easier to follow this ideology but it’s always something I have in mind.
One tip you would give to current members?
Don’t waste your time in college. Everyone deserves some fun but these are very essential times in your life. Netflix will be there for you to catch up on once you graduate. Grades won’t.

What tools or skills has Hermanos Unidos given you that have helped after graduation?
Some of the skills that Hermanos Unidos de UCSC has helped me developed are: working in a group setting and meeting deadlines. Both these skills are crucial in the “real world” and will help you advance your career.
How have you continued to follow the ideas of El Nuevo Hombre outside of the space? I have continued to follow the theory of El Nuevo Hombre outside of the school setting by always striving to break current Latino stereotypes regarding “education.” I volunteer at a local elementary and push attending college to the kids in the class (especially Latinos students) - it’s never too early to introduce higher education to students.
One tip you would give to current members? My one tip is to “be honest, humble and not afraid to put in work.”
