One of my favorite memories this year was when we Skyped in Marcelino Plasencia during a meeting to talk about how HU was founded in Santa Cruz, and then having another alumni Alberto Cortes talk about the space after the founding fathers had graduated. I really enjoyed this meeting because new members got to hear how we were founded and the challenges that the founding fathers went through to establish our familia at Santa Cruz. What was more special was hearing the alumni speak about their time in the space and the advice they gave to current Hermanos. I hope that members learned a lot from that meeting about our familia and that we keep a close relationship with our alumni who helped create the space we all love.

I really enjoyed meeting steering members from other familias at Conference this year. Each steering had their own unique interpretation of their positions, which helped them shape certain aspects within their familia such as connecting with other Latino orgs on campus. You could see their passion for this organization and how it has helped them during their time in college.

My favorite steering memory is getting to know other hermanos from other familias whether it was National Conference or Co-Chair Retreat. It was interesting to interact with other hermanos and see how dedicated they were to Hermanos Unidos and it really was amazing to build hermandad with other hermanos across the state ultimately trying to achieve the same goal of graduating college. These experiences got me to grow as a person as it helped me get out of my bubble, helped me build confidence in myself to go above and beyond, and to be the best person I can be!

My favorite memory is Fall Quarter Alumni Day. It's a hard week for the Alumni Chair to get everything ready and make sure the details are there. This is one of the best events for the Familia. In Steering it's awesome that I was able to count on every single of them in order to make the event a success.

My favorite steering memory would have to be going to conference this past year with everyone and seeing new and older members get to enjoy the experience. Overall it was a fun couple of days regardless of the stress that came with planning it.

All the fun and laughs we’ve had a steering. Being able to roast each other, and well as be serious with one another, has definitely helped us become more comfortable with one another. This year has quite busy but with the help of some fellow steering members, my friends, I was able to push through.
